Here I am in Amsterdam! Woohoo! Most of my family members came to Changi Airport to send me, Mak Nah and Mak Cha. Thank you you guys for sending us off! Love love.
Well, I was dreading the flight as it was 13 hours. But...I had no problem at all. Since we were flying off at 11pm, I knew that I can sleep. So after watching Twilight on air, I decided to sleep. It was not that comfortable since I had to sleep sitting up but it was fine. I was alseep when I felt pain in my back. I opened my eyes and I saw the most wonderful thing ever. With sleepy eyes, I was looking at the black black clear sky. With thousands of stars spread across it, like little diamonds. The sky was so clear and when I saw the stars twinkling, I smile. Allahu ahkbar, I felt like I was on cloud nine, the the stars surrounding me.
13 hours later, we landed at Schipol Airport. Got lost for a while, looking for the bus that can take us to NH Barbizon Palace, our hotel. While seacrhing for the bus, I went out of the hotel. You can just imagine the chill I felt when I stepped out of the airport. It was not that cold yet. However, Mak Nah and Mak Cha insisted that I put on a sweater and since I forgot mine, I borrowed Mak Cha's. Took some pictures. We had to wait for what it seemed like forever in Ice Age before the bus came. We were so glad to get out of the chilly breeze.
The driver took us to our hotel, not before giving Mak Cha a headache. He was driving recklessly. Oh well, maybe we are not used to the roads as the driver are riding on the other side of the car. Hehe. We reached the hotel and check in. I have my own room! Hehe! well, it's connected to my aunts' room la, but whatever. I have my own room. Hehe!
So after unpacking, we decided to go to Central Station. But no pictures there. Just bought some bread and food supplies. Came back to hotel and ate then sleep awhile. By 2 plus, we were out again, walking along the streets. Alot of hot men around me, walking, on bike, in cars, on bicycle. But what threw me off was the smell of marijuana. It's a common knowledge that soft drugs are available on the streets here in Amsterdam. Also, prostitution, I think. I was walking along this street, when I saw 2 ladies, practically half naked, sitting on chairs at a display area of a shop. Dunno what I'm saying? Ok. You know when you go to a retail store, you will see display dummies on the display area. Well, instead of dummies, you get to see the ladies.
The people here are nice. They help you when you asked for help and all. We were in this shop and the we asked if we can get any Halal food here. Much to our delight, he said to walk a few streets ahead and we will find a kebab place. And we did! We were so happy. Then it was more walking here and there. Most of the shops have lollipops. Before you think that it's normal lollipops, it is actually drugs in form of lollipops. I was so glad I knew of this. If I didn't, you can jus imagine what will happen to me. Oh God! I don't even wanna think about it.
So after eating at the Kebab place, we window shopped a bit and then back to the hotel. So here I am now. 2moro is a busy days with tours. We will be going to Delft Blue, The Hague and Madurodam. Delft is the place where pottery is made. The Haque is the official residency of the Queen. As for MAdurodam, we can see the miniature exhibits of Netherlands landmarks.
In the afternoon, we wil be going to Keukenhof Flower Tour. It will be fun to see all the Tulips in fully bloom. Woooo!!!Cannot wait! In the meantime, pictures...More on Facebook and Multiply.
