Woke up at 0630 hrs on Sat to get ready for Malacca with Suken, Jess and Kaori. Just for the fun of it, we decided to go Malacca to visit Joyce’s hometown. So the journey began. By 0800 hrs we were at Bugis, boarding 707 to Malacca.
The journey was a cold one. I was already dozing off 10 mins after we depart from Bugis. But the nap wasn’t long. Me and Suken kept dozing on and off whereas Kaori and Jess yak and yak and yak. Haha. It was raining on and off too. Had a break at Yong Peng around 12 and we had to change to bus cos our bus sort of broke down.
So the journey went on for another hour to Malacca Central. But it didn’t stop in the bus station itself as the bus that we took is a tour bus. So we had to cross and make our way there. Not that far la. Only across the road. Met Joyce and we are off to have Hainanese Chicken Rice Ball. It’s very famous in Malacca, or so I’ve heard. It is so cute. The chicken rice was shaped into a ball. So every one of us took like 5 balls each and shared ½ a chicken. After that we walked around there. Most of the buildings are very run down, but it was so nice to look at. We continued walking in round to view the shops and everything despite the drizzle. We also went to a temple and caught some pics of Suken and Jess praying.
After walking for 2 hours, we headed to Joyce’s car and we went to Afamosa and Christ Church Melaka. It is such a nice place, with an interesting History. I won’t elaborate on the history here. Then, we went to a shopping at Pahlawan, where I got only tidbits there cos I did not want to spend on stuff I can get in Singapore. Oh yeah, I bought Malin’s Prada wallet there. Imitation la. By the time we left Pahlawan, it was already dark, so we drove to Kota Laksamana I to eat. Or rather, to accompany me to eat Malay food. The Asam Pedas was so Syiok. Prata was for them la or course. So after eating, we went to the VCD shop next door and Kaori bought Sex and The City VCD. Malaysia has STORES selling pirated VCDs. Oh well. Then, it is straight to Jonker Walk. We walked through this Baba Nyonya Hotel. It is scary but beautiful. Everything is so nice and related to Baba Nyonya’s life.
The beautiful thing about Jonker Walk is that one turn of the alley, it is like Geylang, lots of food, another turn it is like Arab Street, lots of those home décor and another turn it is like Tanjung Pagar, drunk ang mohs and locals dancing to the music on the pub. It was all in one. Of course, being a true Singaporean, I was looking for some good imitation stuff la. So I got a Guess wallet for Lulu, Anna Sui coin purse for Ibu. And Birkenstock sandals for me. All imitation la, but I don’t really care. Then we walked around until 11 and then they wanna eat Satay Celup. It’s like steam boat but in the form of Satay. That was the reason why I ate at a Malay restaurant first. I knew there will be pork and all, so I ate first. I just sat there watching they all eat. Of course, pictures must be taken.
Then we went to Pirate’s Park. It’s a theme park. We took a ride on Pirate’s ship. Jess simply couldn’t stop laughing as the ship went higher and higher. Actually me too. Suken was laughing but not as crazily as Jess and me la. But Kaori, she said it’s not high enough and she couldn’t laugh. According to her, back in Japan, the ship gets really high and that is what you call fun. Hmm..Maybe one day I shall take a ride in Japan. Hehee.
So then, we decided to head to Joyce’s crib to sleep as everyone has to wake up early. I have to attend the Power Up Seminar at 0830 hrs @ D’Village Melaka.
Went there and waited for an hour for Abg Naz, Kak Faez and Myn to reach ok!! But since Abg Naz and Kak Faez were one of the speaker, I went. It's amazing how this business changed their life for the better. It started at around 0900 and ended at 1400 ok..Was so sleepy but I kept myself awake to hear all the wonderful stories.
So after that, went to eat at some place I don't remember and then to Johor, Tangkak. Kak Faez was fast asleep and I tried very hard not to, scare that Abg Naz will doze off too.One of the leaders have an aunt who lives there and she have Rambutan tree, Durian tree and lots of leaves. Daun Kesum la, Daun Kunyit and all. Myn and faris was so busy plucking and all to bring home. I didn't eat cos I had some from Joyce's crib.
After about 2 hours, the journey continued, stopping for a short break at Manchap. After about 1/2 hour there, we continued our journey. Thought going home already, but it turned out, the drivers wanna go have their cars washed. So we stopped at Banafe, where there are lots of car wash. Banafe is the warong actually. I ordered Maggie Goreng. Looked at the clock and it was already 10 plus. Then, it was home sweet home.
Pictures!!! I'll update soon on Multiply.
